ABOUT GRIJSVELOKE

You don't have to look far to understand the name 'Grijsveloke': it's all about bikes (velo's), and we are based in Gijzelbrechtegem (locally known as Grijsloke).

Unlike my classmates who found cycling boring, I caught the cycling bug at a very young age. At daycare, I was already watching races on TV, and by fourteen, I was competing in my first cyclo-cross events. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, and today I am still actively racing at the amateur level.

My first road bike was an oversized Eddy Merckx fitted with Campagnolo components—that was about all I knew at the time. Soon, my interest in the gear itself grew, and working on bikes became just as enjoyable as riding them. Nowadays, no bike passes by without me noticing (or hearing) almost every detail.

During my studies, I completed various specialized training programs (carbon repair, brazing and TIG welding of steel and aluminum frames, e-bikes, etc.). By now, I have over 10 years of experience in bicycle mechanics. At Grijsveloke, you can come by for repairs and maintenance on all types of bikes, with a core focus on road, gravel, cyclo-cross, and mountain bikes, as well as restorations or repairs of vintage road bikes.

In addition to maintenance and repairs, I have specialized over the years in building hand-crafted custom wheelsets and performing carbon repairs.

Grijsveloke is a workshop open by appointment via our contact form, email, or WhatsApp. I am always reachable during weekday evenings and on weekends.
